A little prep goes a long way. Follow this checklist before your wrap appointment to ensure the best adhesion, cleanest edges, and longest-lasting results. Most of this takes 30 minutes or less.
These are the things you should handle before dropping off your vehicle. None of them are hard, but all of them make a difference in the final result.
Hand wash your vehicle 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. Use soap and water only. Do not apply wax, polish, ceramic coating, Rain-X, or any spray detailer. These products leave a slippery residue that prevents vinyl from bonding to the paint. If your vehicle was recently detailed with a coating product, let us know so we can plan extra decontamination time.
Vinyl wraps conform to whatever surface is underneath. Dents, deep scratches, and rust spots will telegraph through the wrap and be visible in the finished product. Get paintless dent repair (PDR) and touch up any rust before your appointment. Minor swirl marks and light surface scratches are fine -- the wrap will cover those completely.
Take off anything you can easily remove: aftermarket mud flaps, running boards, side steps, roof racks, antenna toppers, license plate frames, and any magnets or stickers. We handle factory trim, mirror caps, door handles, and badges as part of the install. If you have aftermarket fender flares or body kits, let us know ahead of time so we can plan the wrap around them.
Fill up before you drop off. We need to open the gas door to wrap around it, and a full tank means we won't need to move your vehicle during the install. A full tank also prevents condensation inside the tank if your vehicle sits in the shop for a few days during a complex install.
Clear out the interior -- especially the trunk, truck bed, and anything mounted to the dash or windows. We may need to open doors fully, access trunk lids, or work around the interior during edge wrapping. Keeping the vehicle empty also prevents anything from getting vinyl dust or adhesive residue on it.
You handle the easy stuff above. We handle everything else. Here's what our team takes care of on install day.
Even after a hand wash, microscopic contaminants remain on the paint. We wipe down every panel with isopropyl alcohol to remove oils, silicones, and residue that could prevent proper vinyl adhesion. This is the most critical prep step and we do it on every vehicle, every time.
We remove door handles, mirror caps, badges, emblems, and trim pieces as needed to wrap underneath them for clean, seamless edges. Everything gets reinstalled after the wrap cures. This is what separates a professional wrap from an amateur one -- no visible edges or lifted corners around hardware.
We inspect the entire vehicle under proper lighting for any surface issues that could affect the wrap -- chips, rust, peeling clear coat, or previous bodywork. If we find something, we'll call you before proceeding so there are no surprises.
Vinyl adhesion is temperature-sensitive. Our shop is climate-controlled to maintain the ideal temperature range for installation. This is why we don't do wraps outdoors or in unheated garages -- consistent temperature means consistent adhesion across every panel.
Yes. Hand wash your vehicle 24 to 48 hours before your appointment. Use soap and water only -- no wax, polish, ceramic coating, or spray detailer. These leave residue that prevents vinyl from adhering properly. We do a final surface decontamination at the shop, but starting with a clean vehicle ensures the best result.

We handle surface decontamination with isopropyl alcohol, removal of door handles, mirrors, trim pieces, and badges as needed, and a final inspection for any surface issues. You don't need to remove factory trim or hardware -- that's part of our installation process.
Now that you know how to prep, let's get your project on the calendar. Tell us about your vehicle and we'll get back to you same day.
