Why Wrap Prices Vary

Every vehicle is different. Here are the five factors that determine your final price, and why a Civic and a Cybertruck are never the same quote.

Vehicle Size

A compact sedan uses roughly 50 feet of vinyl. A full-size truck or SUV uses 65 to 75 feet. A Sprinter van or box truck can require 100+ feet. More material means more cost, and larger vehicles have more complex body lines that take longer to install.

Material Quality

We use cast vinyl from 3M and Avery Dennison exclusively. Cast vinyl conforms to curves without shrinking, holds color for 5 to 7 years, and is removable without damaging paint. Cheaper calendered vinyl costs 30 to 40% less but shrinks at edges, discolors faster, and often peels within 2 years. The material you choose is the single biggest factor in how long your wrap lasts.

Full vs. Partial Coverage

A full wrap covers every painted surface on the vehicle. A partial wrap targets specific panels -- hood, roof, doors, or tailgate. Partial wraps start at $500 and are a great way to add personality or branding without the cost of a full wrap.

Design Complexity

A solid color change uses one roll of vinyl and requires no printing. A custom printed design (graphics, logos, patterns) requires design time, digital printing, and lamination. Commercial wraps include design in the price. Color changes are typically less than custom prints of the same coverage.

Surface Condition

Vinyl adheres best to clean, undamaged paint. If your vehicle has existing damage, oxidation, or previous wrap residue, additional surface prep is required before installation. We inspect every vehicle before quoting so there are no surprises on install day.

Finish Type

Standard gloss and matte finishes are the most affordable. Specialty finishes like satin, color-shift, chrome, and textured vinyl cost more because the raw material is more expensive and requires more careful installation technique. Chrome wraps, for example, show every imperfection, so installation time is significantly longer.

Car Wrap vs. Paint Job

This is the question we hear every single day. Here is the honest breakdown -- when a wrap makes sense, when paint makes sense, and why most people choose a wrap.

A quality custom paint job in Utah runs $5,000 to $15,000 and takes 1 to 2 weeks in a body shop. It is permanent -- once you commit to a color, you are stuck with it unless you pay to repaint again. A non-stock paint color also lowers your vehicle's resale value because most buyers want factory colors.

A vehicle wrap costs $3,000 to $5,000, installs in 1 to 3 days, and is completely reversible. When you are ready for a new look -- or when you sell the vehicle -- we remove the wrap and your original factory paint is preserved underneath. For leased vehicles, wraps are the only option that does not violate the lease agreement.

Factor Vehicle Wrap Paint Job
Cost $3,000 - $5,000 $5,000 - $15,000
Timeline 1 - 3 days 1 - 2 weeks
Reversible? Yes -- fully removable No -- permanent
Protects Original Paint? Yes -- shields from UV, chips, scratches No -- replaces it
Resale Value Preserved (remove wrap, factory paint intact) Reduced (non-stock color lowers value)
Durability 5 - 7 years with proper care 10+ years (but fades and chips)
Color Options Hundreds -- matte, satin, chrome, color-shift, custom prints Limited to liquid paint colors
Lease-Friendly? Yes No

The only scenario where paint beats a wrap is if you want a permanent color change and never plan to sell or trade the vehicle. For everyone else -- especially leased vehicles, business vehicles, and anyone who likes to change their look -- a wrap is the smarter investment.

What You Get Working With Us

We are not the cheapest shop in Utah. We are the shop that does it right the first time so you do not end up paying twice.

01

In-House Everything

Design, print, and install all happen under our roof. No outsourcing to a print shop across town. No miscommunication between designer and installer. We control every step of the process, which means fewer mistakes and faster turnaround.

02

Premium Materials Only

We use 3M and Avery Dennison cast vinyl exclusively. These are the two most trusted vinyl manufacturers in the world, and their products are specifically engineered for vehicle wraps. We do not stock budget vinyl because it does not last, and our name is on every install.

03

5-Year Warranty

Every installation comes with our workmanship guarantee plus the manufacturer material warranty. If the vinyl fails due to a material defect or installation issue, we fix it. That is the commitment that comes with using premium materials and certified installers.

04

Two Utah Locations

Our Lehi shop handles tint, PPF, and personal vehicle wraps. Our Springville shop handles commercial wraps, fleet graphics, and large-format work. Two locations means shorter wait times and a shop set up specifically for your type of project.

05

Proper Installation

We remove trim, door handles, and mirrors before laying vinyl. This is how you get clean, factory-looking edges that do not lift after 6 months. Most budget shops skip this step to save time. The result is visible edge gaps and peeling corners within the first year.

06

500+ Vehicles Wrapped

Trucks, vans, trailers, Teslas, Cybertrucks, food trucks, and everything in between. Every vehicle teaches you something new, and after 500+ installs we have seen every challenge and know how to handle it. Check our gallery to see the work.

What Most Pricing Pages Leave Out

Cheap wraps are expensive. The difference between a $1,800 wrap and a $3,500 wrap is not just material cost. It is the difference between calendered vinyl that shrinks and peels within 18 months and cast vinyl that holds its color and edge adhesion for 5 to 7 years. It is the difference between vinyl slapped over dirty trim and vinyl laid on properly prepped, decontaminated panels with all trim removed.

We regularly fix wraps from other shops. The customer paid $2,000 somewhere else, the wrap started peeling within a year, and now they are paying again to have it done right. The cheapest option is rarely the least expensive in the long run.

What is included in our price: surface decontamination (clay bar and IPA wipe-down), full trim and hardware removal, premium cast vinyl from 3M or Avery Dennison, precision installation, quality inspection, care instructions, and a 5-year warranty. There are no hidden charges for prep work, trim removal, or post-install inspection. The price we quote on your consult call is the price you pay.

What is NOT included: paint correction or repair (if your existing paint has damage that needs to be addressed before wrapping), aftermarket part removal and reinstallation (oversized spoilers, wide body kits), and rush scheduling (if available, adds 10 to 15% for priority scheduling). We identify all of these on your consult call so there are zero surprises.

Car Wrap Cost FAQs

A full car wrap in Utah costs between $2,000 and $5,000 depending on vehicle size, material, and coverage. At Summit Wraps & Graphics, full color change wraps start at $3,000 for sedans and go up to $5,000+ for specialty vehicles like the Cybertruck. Every quote includes premium 3M or Avery Dennison vinyl and professional installation with a 5-year warranty.

A color change wrap costs $3,000 to $3,500 for a sedan, $3,500 to $4,500 for an SUV or truck, and $4,500 to $5,000+ for specialty vehicles. Price depends on the finish (matte, satin, gloss, chrome) and body complexity. We use only cast vinyl from 3M and Avery Dennison, which conforms to curves without shrinking or discoloring over time.

Yes. A quality paint job costs $5,000 to $15,000 and is permanent. A vehicle wrap costs $3,000 to $5,000, lasts 5-7 years, is completely reversible, and actually protects your original paint underneath. Wraps are also faster to install (1-3 days vs. 1-2 weeks for paint) and offer finishes that paint cannot replicate, like matte, satin, and color-shift effects. See our full car wrap vs paint comparison.

A professionally installed vehicle wrap using premium vinyl lasts 5 to 7 years with proper care. The key factors are material quality (cast vinyl vs. cheaper calendered vinyl), installation technique (proper trim removal and surface prep), and maintenance (hand wash recommended, avoid prolonged direct sun exposure when possible). We include a 5-year warranty on all installations.

Yes. Vehicle wraps are 100% removable and will not damage the original paint when professionally installed and removed. This makes wraps an ideal option for leased vehicles. Many of our customers wrap leased trucks, SUVs, and Teslas. When the lease ends, we remove the wrap and your factory paint is preserved in the same condition underneath.

Yes. Fleet discounts apply for 3 or more vehicles. We design one cohesive brand system and replicate it across your entire fleet, which reduces per-vehicle design time and material waste. Most fleet wraps run $3,500 to $4,500 per vehicle including custom design, premium vinyl, and installation. Get a fleet quote here.

No. Under the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void your warranty simply because you installed a vinyl wrap. A wrap is a cosmetic modification that does not affect mechanical components. In fact, wraps actually protect your paint from UV damage, rock chips, and minor scratches -- preserving your vehicle's condition.

Most full vehicle wraps take 1 to 3 business days to install. We schedule your drop-off and pickup in advance so you know exactly when your vehicle will be ready. The timeline includes full surface prep, trim removal, vinyl application, post-heat treatment, and a final quality inspection before delivery.
